Variety Bash Memento Framing

Case Study

At Frame Today, we pride ourselves on transforming cherished memories into stunning works of art that our customers can treasure forever. As the manager of Frame Today Tuggerah, I took on a unique and meaningful project that exemplifies our dedication to craftsmanship and creativity.

A Journey Across Australia

The story begins with a participant of the Variety B to B Bash, an annual event that supports Variety - The Children’s Charity. This incredible event takes participants on a 6,000km+ journey across the breathtaking landscapes of Australia, raising funds to provide grants for kids who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability. Our customer, a proud Bash participant in car 88, approached us with a very special request: to frame a memento from their remarkable journey.

A Flag with a Story

The memento in question was a flag that had been affixed to their car throughout the entire journey. As you can imagine, the flag was well-worn and had seen better days. Our customer poignantly shared, “The flag was on my car for the 6,000km+ journey across our beautiful country,” highlighting the sentimental value and the wear and tear it had endured.

Our Creative Solution

Understanding the emotional significance of the flag, we set out to preserve it in a way that honored its story and the journey it had been part of. We began by carefully sewing the remnants of the flag using nylon thread, ensuring the stitching was cleverly hidden from view. This delicate process not only preserved the integrity of the flag but also prepared it for display in a visually appealing manner.

Capturing the Journey in Photos

To further encapsulate the memories of the journey, we incorporated photos from the trip into the design. Using our state-of-the-art computerized mat cutter, we skillfully cut a multi-opening matboard to hold the photographs. Each photo was framed within its own window, allowing for a detailed and engaging display that told the story of the adventure.

Adding the Finishing Touches

To complete the presentation, a plaque with the year and name of the event was added, providing a personalized touch that celebrated the journey. The overall design featured a double matboard with a V-groove to outline each window, creating a balanced and harmonious look.

Our customer expressed a preference for a black frame so we chose a wide matte-black frame that could support the weight of the oversized Ultravue glass. This special glass ensures a reflection-free viewing experience, allowing the details and colors of the flag and photos to shine through without distraction.

Supporting a Worthy Cause

The Variety B to B Bash is more than just an event; it’s a mission to give all Aussie kids a Fair Go. By participating in this annual journey, individuals help raise essential funds for Variety the Children’s Charity, which provides invaluable support to children in need.

At Frame Today Tuggerah, we are honored to be part of preserving the memories of such impactful experiences. Our team’s work on this project allowed us to hone our skill and creativity, and also reflects the heart of our mission: to help our customers cherish their memories through beautiful, custom framing.
